Diet
Diet is very important. You need a variety of foods and a staple food for your cichlids. Variety keeps them healthy, brighter colours, faster growth rate and keeps them interested in food.
Some people feed once a day, twice a day, three times a day. I prefer to feed different foods (staple first) in smaller amounts so their is no waster and it's better on their digestion then one big feeding.
What you need is a good staple pellet. I use New Life Spectrum and Hikari Cichlid Gold.
Feeders
Feeders are not good, they cary diseases, cichlids love them don't get me wrong but they carry so much disease plus their is no nutritional value. And once you get them on feeders they may stop eating their food and that's a big problem.
