Blood Parrots are hybrids. Some people love them, some people hate them, I personally love them.
The problem with Blood Parrots is their mouth, they do not close properly, they can still eat, in fact both mine eat like a pigs.
Parrots remind me of a comical cartoon character.They are so cute.
Blood Parrots are very tough and aggressive, even though they can't produce a harmful bite they can still be bullies. Both of mine, Pip and Charlie rule the tanks.
Their are a variety of fish that can be placed with Blood Parrots. People seem to keep them with everything.
A blood Parrot is a man-made fish and many people frown upon this.
Although Parrots have been known to mate and even lay eggs, generally they are infertile. There have been sporatic cases of successful spawnings, generally when they have been crossed with a non-hybrid fish. Like other cichlids, Blood Parrots will tend the eggs and resulting fry fastidiously. As with any eggs, those that are infertile will turn white and rapidly fungus. The parents will eat infertile eggs to prevent them from spreading fungus to the fertile eggs.

Parrots come in a variety of colours BUT this is by man. This is a cruel proceduree and the fish go threw harsh chemicles. Plus in time the colour will fade.

This is another cruel method by man. They cut the tails, yes, that's right they cut the tails to make them into a heart shape.
