Oscars are very personable fish. It's like owning a puppy dog. They recognize their owners in fact.

They always jump for joy for food splashing water all over the place.

They are not that aggressive, some can be but for the most part they are gentle giants.

They also grow super fast and have a voracious appetite.

When you get your new Oscar don't be suprised if they lay on their side, they are not dead they are just playing dead because they are scared. So don't freak out!

Oscars seem to be very playful, they like to jump and hit the lid of the tank which makes a big bang.

My Oscar, Wally is great, he knows who I am and he is very active especially when it comes to food, water splashes everywhere.

For tank mates it is imperative that you select ones that are neither too aggressive nor too passive, as the aggressive ones will beat up your Oscar and the passive ones will get beaten up.

If you do want to keep your Oscar with other fish, the fish should either be raised together or should be moved into a new fish tank together so that none of them have an established territory.
